Inshore Report -
Sheepshead are showing up around oyster bars and docks with shrimp, fiddler crabs and oysters being used as bait. Redfish are schooling all along the coast, including on grass flats and bars. Due to the high water temperature trout have been pushed out on the deeper grass flats, like the Ochlocknee Shoals. They should start to move back to shallower water shortly due to the falling water temperature.

Offshore Report - The main target right now is grouper. Trolling is beginning to produce. Ly's are the dominate bait for bottom fishing due to the fact you can purchase 5lbs for only $3.95. Most reports are that grouper are being caught in 50-60 ft of water. But some anglers are still reporting catching their limit in 40 and 80 foot of water. On the days the weather has permitted everyone we have talked to have caught their limit. A few king mackerel have been reported by floating a cigar minnow. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they vote to open snapper starting October 1 - November 22, 2010 on Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. We will keep you informed on the status of this.
